jarring honey

my right bicep muscles are reintroducing themselves to my humerus as i just spent six hours jarring over 1,ooo lbs of honey into 2 lb. glass jars. joseph (my co-worker) and i decided that if there was a music to jarring honey it would have stringed instruments. the only music we heard though was the delirious chatter and random humming that ensues after doing a monotonous job for awhile. the aroma however, is unique and decadent.

tonight is community garden night in alamosa (the next town east of monte vista), where i go to pick weeds, harvest vegetables and enjoy the company of others with really dirty hands/fingernails. one of my standards for knowing you had a good day is if your feet are dirty...hands in the dirt count too~

I've taken a new liking to dirt. Started a worm farm earlier this week and waiting for composter to arrive today! Yippee! We'll see how long I like it. In the meantime, picking through the trash takes on a whole new meaning! xo
