A Day for Women

March 8 is International Women´s Day for most of the world... a day to recognize and celebrate the woman-

My town celebrated with a little event at the high school. Poetry was read as well as the history of the day, flowers were passed out, a song was sung.The timid high school girls squirmed in their seats and looked down at the cement with humble smiles on their faces. It was a quaint but thoughtful celebration.

However, I´m afraid that the following 364 days become deaf to the essence of a woman and her contribution to humanity. I am blessed to come from a country where it´s common for women to share opionions and express themselves freely. However, most of the women in the world, live voiceless and among the shadows of their environments.

So, may we see the eyes of the `unseen´ and hear what they have to say along the journey-
