eyescope

so i decided to take a bike ride to the ranch that i've worked at for many a summer (http://www.4urranch.com/) from monte vista. it's about 45 miles northwest through gently rolling country. i find riding a bike gives such a different perspective on my surroundings. i notice the details like the freshly painted road symbols, pebbles that are scattered along the shoulder, the wind velocity (as it opposes my face!), the smells of cattle ranches, the clouds playing charades, the patches of wild flowers...i remember a man from ireland who said that he never has to travel because he always meets people traveling which gives him a new perspective. how brilliant is that! i am encouraged by the fact that every day we wake up with a chance to choose our perspective on life. ~may your day be full of hope and curiosity~
