Cacao





Oh! Cacao- how delightful you are!
I´ve become more familiar with this mystical fruit and my fancy for it has only grown. Besides the wonder of making chocolate from the beans, the flower, the pod, the juice and even the colors of an orchard are lovely. I´ve worked with high school students as well as a few families to trim and havest their trees. Vicente and Claudia and I recently collected the baba , or the juice inside the pod to experiment making organic herbicide. Selling their cacao is how people make a living so anyway to improve the pod growth and reduce weeds is beneficial. If you have a bucket list, add tasting fresh cacao juice!
