Visitors

Early December my great friend Amy passed through Ecuador to visit before going to see her fam for Christmas (She is a current Peace Corps volunteer in Vanuatu).

Despite me having been tested for leishmaniasis the same day, we painted the country yellow, traipsing around the mtns. and jungle, sharing stories. Being away from many dear friends has really allowed me to appreciate the communication when far and the company when near.

Emili

Emili is only four years old but has an old soul. We´re both the middle child and share kindred spirits. Her assertiveness and brightness are rare in children here-as well as her request to drink just water when she visits (most people and children only drink chicha). Her friendship has been profound in my time here and her laughter a peace. Elder (her older brother) and Emi
